During Utah Quilt Guild's Quilt Fest, I was able to do some sewing for me! I signed up for some sewing classes that looked like fun and treated myself to a day of me-time!
One of the classes I signed up for is called Tsunami. It is a cool quilt pattern made by Deonn Stott, and she was our teacher!
First of all, look at this awesome place to have class! It is called the Atrium Room at the Davis Conference Center. So much natural light and great views.
Ms. Stott did a great job leading the class in how to put together each section of the quilt and how to sew it all together.
I was the problem student because I did not precut my fabrics like she had instructed. So I spent the first half of class listening and cutting. (Goodness! How embarrassing!) But Deonn was super nice about it and I was able to catch up. It was a great class!
This is the sample she brought to class. It is a throw size.
I made the larger, queen size version. I love the way it turned out! It was just what I needed to give myself a little self-care.

Have fun quilting!
